| Welcome to the Mountain Lyons Traders website. This website was originally designed with the buckskinner in mind. I have opened the site to anyone interested in the hobby / lifestyle of those who re-create living history as it was before 1870. Whether you participate in the Civil War, the fur trade era, Revolutionary War or whatever, this website is for you. While my primary focus remains on buckskinning and the Fur trade era, I am more than willing to post events or open new pages for Civil War, Revolutionary War or whatever event and era you portray. Please send me information on it and I'll get it posted. Inside, you'll find events throughout the Mid-west region of the United States. There are events listed throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan and Missouri, but I'm open for other areas of the Midwest as well. I have a calendar of events for the current year (always in the process of updating), links to other quality web pages, photo galleries, and we are the ORIGINAL site for the one thing lacking in all previous web sites... DIRECTIONS! I've been in and around the hobby for almost 20 years now and all previous web sites I've encountered have never given clear directions to their events. It may say "such and such park", but does not give the town or where in or around town that location could be found. Even when the event does have directions, they have not always been very clear. I have done what I can to remedy this problem. If you note a problem with my directions, please feel free to send me the corrections so I can get it updated. If you have a new event that I don't show, let me know through the contact page. I'll get it on here as fast as I can. Additions or exclusions of a particular club or event does not in any way endorse a preference on my part. I included it if I had information on it, or left it out if I didn't. I will not deliberately mislead anyone, so if I am in error, please let me know. I can be reached by either e-mail or feedback on the "Contact me" page.
